10 Home Gadgets Designed to Help the Obese Live More Comfortably

--By Sushma Pradhan

‘OBESITY is a condition which proves that the Lord does not help those who help themselves and help themselves and helpthemselves.’

It is so right! However, does that matter anymore! Where the Lord refuses humans take charge.

For all those people, who believe in extra helpings and those who live life larger than life size, for all those who fit in multiple X preceding L size, life becomes nasty and mean when everyday becomes difficult with the weight they carry.

Today the weight does not matter any more, the sleekest, trendiest and the hip gadgets that are scattered all around you will never let you feel left out even for a moment. Today is the brand new dawn of new technology, a masterpiece born in a blink of an eye. Let us peek into the world of technology, the WOW factor in the life of the obese that help them live a comfortable life.

Here is the list of 10 gizmos that adds on to make life a comfort zone. In list of the 10 super gadgets, I have placed them as per their ‘Cool Factor’ not necessarily taken out of common poll.

I consider the mobile phone takes the lead in the list. When mobile phones emerged, there were theories, which said cancer activator in the pocket. But think for a moment, can you ever think of a life without that puny little gadget?  Well a BIG NO!!!

1. Nokia N Series: Nokia has added N75 and Nokia N95 to their series of innovative N series gizmos.  These gadgets speak in itself the unstinting effort of Nokia’s ‘connecting people.’

The N series is a combination of superb 3G features, mega pixel cameras, technically advanced digital music players and internet world.

Nokia N75 has a 3G feature and a multi media player, camera of 2-mega pixel that complements its looks.

On the other hand, the 3G feature, a 5-mega pixel camera, the latest technological enhancement of WCDMA, HSDPA, and Wifi, all add up to make the Nokia N95 elegant and wanted.

2. Apple ipod: The hottest thing to enter our lives is the Apple’s iPods, a gadget that rules the realm of digital music. Initially when iPods appeared in the market, there was nothing so special about it because it functioned only with the Macs, with a space of 265 to 1GB. However, then came iPod nano and the present iPod, a gadget that is quite a revolution. With 40 GB drive, compatible with Mac as well as Windows, a USB support and loads of other features, no doubt makes Apple iPod simply irresistible.

3. Sony’s PlayStation: The fun game Nintendo and other fun machines added a lot of charm to our multimedia gaming, but with Sony’s PlayStation, the gaming world has a new level altogether. Equipped with CPU, graphics synthesizer 128-bit Game Box this playstation is a package of Emotions. Not only games, you may chill out with some DVD movies too. This game box full of emotional extravaganza is a storehouse of hottest games.

4. Sony Handycam: One product that makes life incomplete without it is the Handycam. The DCR-VX1000 is one of a kind Handycam by Sony. This product had a camcorder that can capture pictures in mini DV format, and a technique to transfer the digital photograph to a Comp. However, price wise it may be slightly higher but there is certainly no compromise with the effect and the video quality.

5. Motorola K3 and Motorola Q: Motorola K3 and Q are the latest technological wonder. This appealing gizmo is not just a great look but also a 3G advanced device. Endowed with a VGA camera, you can click the most brilliant snaps to cherish the splendid moments of your life. The clamshell K3 is the advanced version of Motorola KRZR K3.

The equally stylish Motorola Q comes with a QWERTY keypad and an EDGE technology for a smooth web browsing. These handsets are no doubt strong contenders for the mobile phone sectors and without a doubt they are truly impeccable.

6. Digital Compact Camera: The digital compact cameras can be comparable to SLRs, with the introduction of the New PowerShot S5 IS from Canon. This is the extremely popular long zoom camera with a variable level of exposure control. Furthermore, the camera also comes with optical image stabilization, a trait found only in few cameras. Overall, this PowerShot S5 IS is quite an amazing thing with an amazing capability and a good picture quality.

7. The Palm Pilot: The personal data assistant, pda, palm top, these are few other names by which the palm pilot is also known. With the plethora of functions, this handheld computer has become truly versatile gadget. However, the touch screen presence remains one of its significant characteristic.

Although initial PDAs did not have slots for memory cards, but now most of them have either Compact Flash or a Secure Digital slot, some also have USB port designed for the USB flash drivers.

This gadget, small enough to fit into your shirtpocket not just grows smaller with refinement but powerful too.

8. Pagers: One device that has made communication easier is the pager. It is small enough fit comfortably fit into a purse or the pocket. Pagers are of three types numeric, alpha numeric, and two-way pagers.

Numeric pagers can only display numeric codes and numbers. On the other hand, alphanumeric pagers can receive not just the phone numbers but small messages too. The two-way pagers are a device that are capable of not receiving messages, but also lets the recipient reply.

9. Nintendo Gameboy: The modern day kid prefers Nintendo Gameboy to two- wheelers. This gadget has two small slots to adjust the game cartridges and a LCD. However, with time, newer versions have arrived but this handheld game remained unchallenged in the game market until Sony PlayStation arrived. However, we still cannot count this product to be obsolete or a loser, in fact it is very much in demand and very popular.

10. Sony Ericsson Walkman Phones: When mobile phones arrived few years back, it only served the purpose of a conventional communicating gadget. With the thirst for latest technology, the mobile phone was experimented for multifunction and as result camera phones, and other utility rich gadget evolved. However, Sony preferred to give music a fair chance with the gadget and solely concentrated in innovating a successful gadget, the result was Sony Ericsson Walkman series phones. This phone was created keeping in target the music lovers, who wanted to stretch their passion in their cellular phones.

Few of the immensely popular walkman series are W830i, W850i and the W610i series. Besides serving the function of a walkman and a phone, the Sony Ericsson series is equipped with cameras and sound system that speaks for itself in volumes.
